| You need Double-Take data replication software. |
| In many corporate Windows NT/2000 environments, the loss of even an hour's data may cost many (tens of) thousands of pounds. Downtime can be similarly expensive, resulting in lost productivity and lost business. |
| Monitoring file changes on your servers and replicating them in real-time to a backup server, Double-Take data replication software is unrivalled in its position as the replication tool of choice. |
| Flexsys are also in an unrivalled positon to help you and your business, offering added benefits not offered by the vast majority of data replication specialists: |
| |
- Fully accredited installation and support engineers
- Double-Take trained Helpdesk support personnel
- 24/7 call-logging facilities
- Demonstration and hosting facilities
- A sixteen year track record of support

With traditional backup alone, you run the risk of losing up to a full day's data in the event of a system failure. Even the best tape backup systems require hours to restore a large server, and downtime can extend to days if the restore does not go smoothly. For many businesses, this amount of lost data and downtime is no longer acceptable. |
Double-Take monitors file changes as they occur on one or many source servers, replicating them in real-time to a server over existing network links.
In the event of a server failure, Double-Take's target server has backup copies of all your critical files immediately available for your users. The target server can even assume the identity of the failed server, virtually eliminating data loss and downtime. |
|
| Double-Take enhances Existing Backup Systems |
Double-Take can be used without changing your current tape backup strategy.
Double-Take makes it easy to backup open files, since the replicated copy is always available for backup. In addition, the option of centralizing your tape backup operations on the target server can reduce cost and simplify management of your backup systems. |

| Disaster Recovery |
No data protection strategy is complete without off-site protection from disasters.
Because of its patented communication technology, Double-Take is uniquely suited to replicating data over WAN links. |

How Double-Take data replication software works |
A small software module is installed on each source and target server.
An easy-to-use client application lets you define which data will be replicated and where the copies will be stored.
The initial mirroring operation can be performed while the source servers are active.
After this simple configuration and the initial mirroring are completed, operations are automatic and transparent. |
The failover module resides on the target server, and continually monitors the source servers.
In the event of a server failure the target server can assume the names and IP adresses of the failed servers (in addition to its original name), and invoke scripts to restart applications. |
| 1. |
The Double-Take source module uses patented technology that lets it run with minor system performance impact. |
|
| 2. |
Double-Take's Installable File System (IFS) caches data as it is buffered, often replicating data even before it is actually written to the source disk. |
| 3. |
Double-Take uses existing TCP/IP networking, no specialized hardware is required. |
| 4. |
Reduce cost, simplify management and improve general performance by moving your backups to a centralised backup server. |
| 5. |
Double-Take's loosely-coupled communication technology and resource management provide reliable performance over slower off-site links. |
| 6. |
Double-Take allows you to select which file systems, raw devices, directories or files should be protected, reducing storage demands and bandwidth requirements. |
| 7. |
The Double-Take target module is extremely efficient, making it highly scalable. It supports one-to-one, one-to-many and many-to-one as well as same server and chained configurations. |
| 8. |
The system failover capability enables the target server to stand in for multiple source servers. |
| 9. |
Open files that are locked on the source servers are available for backup on the target server. |
